Hari Ini Dalam Sejarah

NEW DAWN FOR MALAYSIA: Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak congratulating his deputy Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin after announcing the new Cabinet line-up in Putrajaya today (pix credit: NST Online)

WHAT'S NEXT FOR MALAYSIA?

Our new PM, Datuk Seri Najib Razak finally announced the new Cabinet line-up today, a day later than originally scheduled.

Am very happy that Najib chose Datuk Mustapa Mohamad as the new minister for MITI! A trained economist and an intelligent, no-nonsense guy, I have the confidence that Tok Pa can bring the ministry back to its heyday, like the one it had during Rafidah Aziz's era. Even happier that Najib appointed my favourite Umno guy, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir as MITI's deputy minister, yeay!yeay!yeay! Good choice, Datuk Seri!

As for the other "new" ministers and their deputies...hmm, I'm taking a wait-and-see stance;-)

And the icing on the cake? KJ is NOT in the list, yeayyyy!!!!! I guess this is what you call KARMA. He may won the Umno Youth Chief post last month (in very doubtful circumstances, I must say), but as people say: Nice guys always win in the end. So to Datuk Mukhriz: "Congratulations! You truly deserve your position now in the Cabinet!":D (For those who have been living in the cave for the past one month, KJ (surprisingly) defeated Mukhriz in the race for Umno Youth Chief position, despite being "warned" earlier for alleged involvement in money politics.)

TO ALL THE NEW MINISTERS & THEIR DEPUTIES: OUR HOPES ARE ON YOU. PLEASE DON'T SCREW UP AND BRING MALAYSIA DOWN THE DRAIN...THE STAKE IS JUST TOO HIGH.

***Note: Am wondering: 1) What will Anwar be doing next? 2) What will Pakatan Rakyat be doing next? 3) What will be the "ousted" ministers & deputies be doing next?

As Utada Hikaru sang in her song: "Time will tell.";-)

Umno Highlights Part 3: Like Father, Like Son...Or Not?;)

FORMER PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA: TUN DR MAHATHIR MOHAMAD

FUTURE PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA, PERHAPS? HOPEFULLY... (INSYA-ALLAH):
DATUK MUKHRIZ MAHATHIR

Umno Highlights Part 2: Bits & Pieces

A few photos taken during the 59th Umno General Assembly, which took place at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur from March 24 until March 29, 2009.

(All photos taken by me using my dinky DSC T-10);)

WOMEN'S POWER: Datuk Shahrizat Jalil thanking her supporters, after being announced as the new Wanita Umno Chief replacing Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz.

STRONGEST SUPPORTERS: Shahrizat with her family.

PAST & PRESENT: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak & Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi cutting the "pulut kuning" on the last day of the General Assembly.

THE NEW SUCCESSION: The new Deputy President of Umno, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, together with the new Vice Presidents of the party after the announcement of their victory.

UNITING WEST & EAST MALAYSIA: Muhyiddin & Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, the first Umno leader from Sabah to ever win a VP post.

UMNO Highlights (March 24-28, 2009) - Part I

Parliament coverage aside, the 59th Umno General Assembly was my first major event after rejoining the media line back in May last year.

Despite my sheer allergy to politics, I truly enjoyed my five-day stint there:

Colourful characters.

Various political intrigues.

Glamourous Mak Datins & Puteri Umno members.

A retiring Prime Minister.

A boo-ed-by-the-delegates son-in-law *ehem*.

A crammed baazar which sell almost everything besides your parents.

And of course, FREE FOOD.

What's there NOT to like, huh?;)

Well, here are some of our team photos...:)

With the Prime Minister & wife, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi & Datin Jeanne Abdullah.
